CELBANPrep University helps internationally educated nurses in Canada by offering an easy-to-use, app-based platform that makes learning and preparing for exams simpler and more effective.

The story of CELBANPrep University’s evolution from 2009 to 2023 is a powerful example of innovative thinking in the realm of education for Internationally Educated Nurses in Canada. Founded by me, Kim Kara, CELBANPrep set itself apart by adopting a unique approach: separating the teaching of skills rather than combining them all together. This method was grounded in three guiding principles:

compassionate pricing, focused learning, and educational insights.

1. Compassionate Pricing: By separating skills, CELBANPrep made its training more affordable, allowing more nurses to access the education they needed to succeed.
2. Focused Learning: Concentrating on one skill at a time enabled students to progress more rapidly by honing in on specific areas that needed improvement.
3. Educational Insights: With a solid background in adult education, Kim designed a program that was not only effective but also sensitive to the unique challenges nurses faced when adjusting to the Canadian education and assessment systems.

In 2021, when CELBAN moved online and allowed unlimited attempts, I adapted my program to fit this new format by creating an app-based virtual campus with three levels:

CELBANPrep University’s English Language Mastery program is designed to help Internationally Educated Health Professionals achieve the level of language proficiency they need to succeed in their careers in Canada.
