I am from Cebu, Philippines and I’ve been here for 3 months already. Well yes, Edmonton is our only stop (I arrive with my family). I will be taking CELBAN for the first time this December 4 and I am quiet nervous because I don’t have any idea about this test, but I took IELTS twice already. The recent one was last [year]. I am really weak in the Writing part. I scored L- 7.5-8, R- 7.5-8 W- 6-6.5 and S-7-7.5. I am so frustrated because [NNAS] requires higher scores. That’s why I really really need your help on this. Thanks! E
My name is Q , my colleague and l would like to take the CELBAN test. Prior to taking or booking for the exam we would like to practise and prepare ourselves.
We are registered nurses currently based in London, UK, we are interested in migrating over to Canada next year.We will be very grateful if you recommend some preparation resource materials ,also wanted to know which states run preparation workshop for the exams .We would like to take the test … but most centres are fully booked.Which state are you based and do you running any preparation classes?
Hope to hear from you soon. Q
Kim, I was lost when I decided to finally take CELBAN. Prior to that I took IELTS more than 5x when I was in the Philippines and 2x here in Canada. I was devastated when I didn’t got my desired scores in IELTS. I had hesitations in applying for CELBAN because: first) it don’t know anything about it, second) i don’t know people or institution who conduct reviews and lastly) another months of preparation. Luckily, I saw CelbanPrep thru google… I joined in the month of FEB and took the CELBAN MAY 3. I passed! Continue reading

I’m good, thank you. I love Calgary, it’s nice to live here.
I’m from Philippines and I’ve been living in Canada for about 1 year and 3 months now. I took Academic IELTS 3 years ago and my scores was never reached the required scores for nurses. I already took 3x and I even attended IELTS review in the Philippines. As far as I remember my scores are Listening 6-6.5, Writing 6.0, Listening 6.5, Speaking 6-6.5.
The reason that brought me to your site is because I will take my CELBAN writing exam on Thursday. I had my speaking exam last Monday and I knew that I didn’t do great. I struggled for words, keep on saying the same thing, I have long pauses and I got stunned. I’m always having the same problem even before in IELTS. I am too nervous. This is my first try to take CELBAN. I’m crossing my fingers to pass my writing exams at least. I admit that I am not prepared because CELBAN offered me a schedule 2 weeks before the exam, since I am so eager to take CELBAN, I grabbed the offer. I will update you on the results. Thanks Kim. S.
Hi Kim! I am a registered nurse form the Philippines. Me and my family have been living here in Canada for almost 5 years since we arrived in September of 2009. And yes, Winnipeg is our first stop. We are currently residing here in Winnipeg and we haven’t lived anywhere else in Canada. In additon to this, I just got my license as registered from the Philippines last August of 2013 and am currently working on my english proficiency. On the other hand, I have a CLB score of L: 9 R: 9 S: 9, and 8 on writing.
Actually, I have already purchased your Celban preparation on Reading and Listening for $ 49 + taxes. And I think it is helping me a lot. However, my schedule for CELBAN will be on May 21st and 22nd of 2014. So, it’s next week! I was thinking of not taking my CELBAN on the said date after I read your advice from other people. However, I can not reschedule my assessment for CELBAN because they can not give me the refund of $ 375 assessment fee since my schedule for CELBAN is due in less than a week. For now, I’m doing the best I can in order to prepare for my upcoming CELBAN. I’m very positive that I will achieve the scores that I’m required to get. If ever I don’t pass, I will take it as an expereince and I will make sure that I’m prepared and confident the next time I will take the CELBAN – of course, with your help. Thank you very much Kim for helping us “New Canadians” achieve our goal in a smooth way.
What’s the use of these all sales because people didn’t get their celban dates from 5-6 months so much waiting to get the exam date then no use of this celban . It’s not good in my view , i m so much upset about the system of this celban exam dates till August it’s full I want to give exam now but how? M

If you are anything like me, you spend the winter waiting for the summer to arrive; it is a time to be out doors, to visit with friends, to enjoy the jems of Canada, and to have BBQ’s. Living in Edmonton with 8 months of winter, I find the summers seductive; I want to be outside every single minute. Thankfully for laptops and extra batteries, I can take my laptop anywhere and do work!
But, while the glorious sun is here, and we all feel so very happy, the fall is only a few months away: and with it comes another set of CELBAN exam dates. To prepare for the exam can take anywhere from 2-6 months, or even more depending on your weaknesses with grammar. In all reality preparing for the CELBAN over the summer is the best time to study!
