♥ *You gave me the assistance, confidence and emotional support … I was able to pass CELBAN on my first try
This is A. You may not remember me but I subscribe to your CELBANPrep course 2 years ago. Now, I am very happy to inform you that I will be finishing my 10 courses in the BCN program for RNs this March. Yes! I am finally done with school and I will be able to apply for a GN position and later on RN! This is all thanks to you who made this possible. You helped me prepare for CELBAN. And during that time, I was losing hope because I was frustrated that I was not able to pass the IELTS for the 3rd time. But, thank God that I did not give up. You gave me the assistance, confidence and emotional support during that time. And because of that I was able to pass CELBAN on my first try. I will never forget it. Thank you so much! May God continue to shower you with more blessings! A
Now I have a confidence in my writing. When I wrote a letter to my supervisor, I could identify my errors. Run on sentences, verbs, punctuation and articles.
I sent an email a week or so ago regarding my result… At first, I was so depressed and sad regarding my result: Speaking- 8, Listening -10, Reading 9 and Writing -6. I was very disappointed because I spent most hours practicing the Writing part compare to the other components of CELBAN. It was a huge challenge for me and I was about to give up. My fiancée encouraged me not to loss hope and ask me about how I did in my Writing. I said,” I thought I was able to pass and failed on my Speaking because I was so nervous”. From there, we decided to have my Writing re scored and rechecked again. My Writing score was changed from 6-7. I PASSeD MY CELBAN!!! And you are one of the reasons why I made it. Thank you so much Kim! Godbless you always.
P.S: I’m still waiting for the collocation book to come out.hehehe. I’m so happy I subscribed to CELBANPrep=). Also, Happy Mother’s Day in advance. You are such a wonderful person Kim ^_______^Thanks,
I just got my CELBAN test result today, I PASSED! S-10, R-10, L-10, W-8. I am really proud of my scores and I have you to thank for that.
I was confident when I took the test because I know that CELBANPrep prepared me for it. I have one thing to share to you so that you can also remind your students about it.
I was excited about the writing task because I know that with all the practices that I did with CELBANPrep, nothing can go wrong. Well, I was wrong!! I was already home when I started to think about the exam, I was happy with my performance until I remembered that I did not sign the incident report! Another thing, I wrote 4 paragraphs instead of 3! The instruction was to write an incident report with 1-3 paragraphs. This haunted me for a week!
What I’m trying to point out here is that students should have presence of mind during the test.
It was good that I learned from you how to mind map so that information is organized [from CELBANPrep Writing Level One]. I also kept in mind your reminder to be conscious of the tenses [CELBAN or IELTS: Grammar Essentials]. I think this probably is the reason why I got an 8 in writing.
Thank you Kim and more power! Keep on empowering IENs to achieve our goals.
Keepsake: 1G*!! After failing the IELTS 7 x, I joined [CELBANPrep] in the month of FEB, took the CELBAN MAY: I passed!!!
Kim, I was lost when I decided to finally take CELBAN. Prior to that I took IELTS more than 5x when I was in the Philippines and 2x here in Canada. I was devastated when I didn’t got my desired scores in IELTS. I had hesitations in applying for CELBAN because: first) it don’t know anything about it, second) i don’t know people or institution who conduct reviews and lastly) another months of preparation. Luckily, I saw CelbanPrep thru google… I joined in the month of FEB and took the CELBAN MAY 3. I passed! Continue reading
Keepsake: !!* I took CELBAN, first attempt I failed….I got the confidence to overcome my fear of writing
Good afternoon Kim,
My name is R, I am one of your student… I would like to thank you for all your guidance and support in my writing. Though, I felt so bad whenever I check my writing [CELBANPrep Writing Level One] there were lots colours for corrections- but for this corrections I improved and felt confident in doing an incident report [CELBANPrep Writing Level Two]. Honestly, I took IELTS exam 3 times, unfortunately I didn’t meet the score that they were requiring me to reach. Then I took Celban, first attempt I failed. Somehow, you gave me a chance … from that point I practice and practice until I got the confidence to overcome my fear of writing. Luckily, I got a schedule … for CELBAN exam … and I pass the exam. Kim, you put a mark in achieving my nursing career here in Canada.
Here is an example of an incident report written by a subscriber to CELBANPrep Writing Level Two. (She used CELBANPrep Writing One, and accessed Writing Coaching.) This is the result after several revisions. What follows is a discussion between me and the IEN who wrote the report.

Sent October 2nd.
I got the results today! Omg!
I can’t thank you enough!
Words aren’t enough to express how thankful I am for your help, guidance and encouragement. I wouldn’t deny that I was already thinking of other options in case I didn’t pass. I just don’t want to be so depressed and wanted to have a new course/way to look forward to if failed on this. And I did not fail, because of you. I mentionedyourCelbanprep to my friends but they are still undecided on what they wanna do. I guess it’s just a matter of what your dreams are but just like what they always say, ‘Dreams don’t work unless you do‘. We need to moveourhiney off. Haha.Thank you so much Kim. :)Always,
I was so motivated by your stories and experiences with my countrymen and other immigrants. I really also miss home but sacrificed to leave my country to seek better opportunities as for my self and my profession. Becoming a nurse takes alot of sacrifice ,patience and heart. Thank you for being supportive in our plans to serve in your country. The honour of serving in this profession is every nurse’s goal. I never met you yet but just the way you motivates me i surely know you are a kind and clean soul. A friend to keep . R
