Update 2025 +
|| The Small Light Still Burns ||
Dear Kim,
I feel shy to writeโฆ but I must.
I saw your message about the new books on Amazon. I download the Student Workbooks and also the Medical Collocation Sampler. I didnโt know where to begin before, I feel so lost, but now… maybe I see small light. Your words help me to breathe again. They give me something to hold.
Before this, I tried many resources. So many links, videos, PDF, YouTube. But still my grammarโฆ it is broken. I feel embarrassed. I make many mistakes. I write, I erase, I try again. Still I donโt know if it is right or wrong. Sometimes I just sit and stare my notebookโฆ afraid to write even one word.
But your guideโฆ it speak different. It speak to me. I feel you understand us. Like really understand.
And when I saw that the examples come from IENs like me. I feel not alone. Like someone before me also cry in silence but still move forward. That gave me courage. Now I knowโฆ maybe I can do it too.
I will do the Pre-test in the workbooks. I will check where I am weak. I will study more. I will write again and again and not stop. I know I can improve, if I follow this path. Please guide me, Kim. Please donโt stop your light. You are helping so many.
From my heart, thank you.
May God bless you always.
Sincerely,
S
Dear S,
You are not alone in the pause.
You are not alone in the silence before the beginning.
And you are not alone in returning (tenderly, haltingly) to the path that once felt too hard.
Your letter arrived like a whisperโฆ a quiet light.
And yes, it reached me.
๐ Return to Self
There is something sacred about the moment you said, โI feel shy to writeโฆ but I must.โ
This is not just about grammar, or a test.
This is about reclaiming your voice… even when your hands shake, even when your grammar stumbles.
You are not broken.
You are becoming.
Mistakes are not signs of failure.
They are proof that you are moving.
And every sentence, even the ones you erase, are part of the healing.
This is not about perfect writing.
It is about restoring trust in yourself…
…especially when youโve been taught to second-guess.
๐ Fog to Clarity
There is much noise out there.
PDFs. YouTube. Advice from everywhere.
And when your nervous system is already carrying the weight of transition, too many choices can blur your inner compass.
Let me gently offer a place to begin:
There are two companions I quietly made for this exact moment.
They were written for people like you…
…not just to study, but to steady.
- The Student Workbooks: a map through the fog.
- The Medical Collocation Sampler: a mirror, not for judgment, but for gentle discovery.
They will not tell you how much you lack.
They will help you see.
Where you are strong. Where you are ready. Where to begin again.
And maybe most important of all:
They include the real words of real IENs… nurses who walked this path before you, made their own mistakes, and still kept going.
Their courage now walks beside you.
๐ Rooted in Enoughness
Itโs okay that you donโt feel sure.
Itโs okay to cry before you write.
Itโs okay to stare at your notebook and still call that effort.
Every attempt (even the ones you abandon) counts.
Every page you touch is part of the transformation.
There is nothing small about this work.
The path is not linear.
And you do not need to rush.
Even now, you are enough.
๐ Rekindling the Inner Fire
When you said: โMaybe I see small light.โ
That light is not outside you.
That light is yours.
Let it flicker. Let it warm your breath.
You donโt need to know all the steps.
You only need to take the next one.
And when you doโฆ
…when you take the Pre-test in the workbooks,
…when you follow the sentence of another nurse who made mistakes too,
…when you trust yourself to write again…
You are not just preparing for CELBAN.
You are remembering your power.
This is how confidence returns.
Not through pressure, but through presence.
๐ Standing at Zenith
May you know this:
You are standing at the center of your own becoming.
This place (where grief, effort, faith, and language meet) is not a failure.
It is a convergence.
The point where heart and skill meet purpose.
And in this center, you are not alone.
You are not the only one who feels this way.
You are not the only one who prayed with a closed book.
You are not the only one who doubtedโฆ and still rose.
Keep writing.
Keep breathing.
Keep trusting your small light.
I am here.
And the path is unfolding.
With deep honor for your courage,
~ Kim
