|| Still Learning. Still Walking ||
Dear Kim,
I just finish readingโฆ and honestly, I donโt know what to say first. My heart is full.
The way you share the storyโฆ I feel hope again. I feel like maybe, maybe I can also write something like this. Not perfect maybeโฆ but something from my mind, my heart, my training.
Right now, writing is still hard for me. I forget words. I get lost with grammar, with sentence sometimes even I donโt understand what I write after. But I keep trying. I keep practicing. I keep dreaming.
Your message, it remind meโฆ why I choose this path. To help. To care. To be a nurse again in Canada.
Thank you for believing in us, even when sometimes we forget how to believe in ourselves. May God bless your hands and your heart, always.
With deep respect,
โ A.
(Still learning. Still walking.)
(This post has been in the Top 10 and 20 over the past 4 years!)
Dear A.,
Still learning. Still walking.
These words of yours ring in me like a bell.
Steady.
True.
Honest.
They are more than a closing line; they are a declaration of becoming.
Let us walk together now… one breath at a time.
๐ Return to Self
Somewhere along the way, the world asked you to trade ease for effort.
Fluency for repetition.
Familiarity for courage.
And yet, even as words twist and tangle, even as sentences slip through your fingers, you return.
Again and again, you return
to the page, to the task,
to the reason you began this journey in the first place.
What lives behind your struggle is not failure; it is love.
A quiet, relentless love that pulses through your decision
to care, to help, to be of service once again.
This remembering is a kind of homecoming.
You havenโt lost yourself. You are circling back to her.
๐ Fog to Clarity
Writing can feel like walking through mist…
trying to describe a path you can barely see.
But even when you forget a word,
even when grammar turns to smoke, your intention is still intact.
That is what carries through.
What you saidโโI feel like maybe, maybe I can also write something like thisโโis more than hope. It is the fog beginning to lift.
In CELBANPrep Wonderful Writing,
every lesson is designed not just to teach, but to clear.
Each assignment begins in the unknown but ends with a deeper understanding…
not only of language,
but of how you think,
how you express,
and how you care.
The piece we shared (a strong, clear, and time-bound incident report) was not born from perfection.
It was born from practice.
Nine minutes of clarity, shaped by weeks of effort.
You are not far behind. You are already on the path.
๐ Rooted in Enoughness
Dear one, your letter is already evidence that you belong.
You didnโt wait until your grammar was perfect to speak.
You spoke from your truth.
And that is always enough.
When we speak of excellence in CELBAN writing,
we are not asking you to abandon who you are
we are guiding you toward a fuller expression of your existing knowing.
You already carry nursing in your body.
You already know what it means to witness suffering, to respond, to act.
Our work together simply gives language to what you already hold.
๐ Rekindling the Inner Fire
The nurse who wrote the incident report
(a brief, vivid, professional piece)
once doubted her voice, too.
She once wrote slowly.
She once erased her own sentences before anyone else could read them.
But something happened when she gave herself permission to try again.
That fire (that humble persistence) lives in you, too.
The warmth I feel reading your words reminds me why I do this work.
Not to push, not to prove… but to hold space for those who dare to begin again.
๐ Standing at Zenith
Your journey is already unfolding.
You donโt need to arrive in order to shine.
You are already in the process of becoming the nurse you hope to be.
The nurse who communicates clearly, who writes with accuracy and compassion.
The nurse who bridges gaps… not just between cultures, but between hearts.
I believe in your capacity not just to pass a test
but to rise,
to contribute,
and to belong in this next chapter of your calling.
So read the report, if youโd like. Let it nourish you, not pressure you.
Let it remind you of what is possible: not as a distant goal, but as a quiet becoming, already underway.
I am beside you,
one breath at a time,
Kim
Dear Reader,
Recently, a moment of sheer pride and joy unfolded when one of my IENs submitted an assignment on incident reports for CELBANPrep Wonderful Writing. The excellence in her writing was so evident, it sparkled with clarity, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the nursing field. I knew instantly that this was a piece I had to share with you all โ a beacon of what you can achieve, an inspiration to keep striving for greatness. I asked permission to share it on this blog, and it was granted.
CELBAN Writing Task 1 and 2 Combined: About Incident Reports
Incident reports are formal writings which are often made by nurses right after the occurrence of unwanted events. One of the reasons for writing incident reports is after a patientโs fall when he slipped from a pool of water in the washroomโs floor. Another common reason is due to a medication error, like in a situation where a nurse administered wrong medication dosage to a patient. Lastly, it could be a clinical malpractice, like when a nurse failed to monitor the vital signs of a patient after a surgical procedure.
An incident report can be written in a chronological order as long as it relays factual occurrences of the accident. It has to answer questions like: who was involved, where and when did it happened, what happened, why did it happened and how did the nurse managed the event.
Written incident reports can impel hospital administrators to implement new regulations or can also protect the nurse in cases of further legal investigation.
