CELBAN Writing: ECG or EKG?

Dear Kim

Before this email I was hesitated to register for the celban test, but now I feel more confident in myself. By the way,[when I was reading my posted assignment for CELBANPrep Writing] I found one spelling error. “ECG” in French should be “EKG” in English. I always make these mistakes.

A.

Dear A,

I am glad that you are feeling more confident. It is probably good to register, it may be some time before you get a seat. Just remember that I will continue to work with you to keep things fresh, until you wrote the exam. Please continue to work on your timing.

As for ECG and EKG I did not correct it as I have seen it both ways both here and in general.

I just googled it and found Wikipedia:

I also checked for a local answer in Alberta with My Health Alberta, with Alberta Health Link. (This is a really good resource. It will be good for you to become familiar with it and the information resources there. It will help on future exams.)

  • An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of your heart.

This is my go to site for medical information in Alberta, and is the resource RNs use when answering phone calls at the Health Link number.

For 24/7 Health Advice call:

HEALTHLink Alberta

Because you are in Alberta, maybe just call them to find out more about them.

Kim
