📋1G* – I am from Philippines currently working as caregiver … I wanted to try CELBAN but I am scared … I am not working in the hospital now for three and half (3 1/2) years

Updated 2021

Dear Kim,

Greetings,

Honestly, I am comfused to what english test to take, I was reading about Ielts but I found difficult. I wanted to try CELBAN but I am scared because I don’t have the idea how is the exam is going to be, yes i know, there will be listening, reading, writing and speaking, but I am still wondering how is it going to be done in CELBAN. I have tried IELTS (general) before But I was not satisfied about my score, it was low, its was really bad and frustrating.

As when I was viewing all your videos (Dear Kim Canada – YouTube) I’ve heard that there will be role playing , and thats make me scared even more because I am not working in the hospital now for three and half (3 1/2) years, I can feel now as I do not know anything anymore in nursing, like nursing terms and all and so with the writing I am so slow, I practise, I try to write but everytime I read my out its so frustating because its just like it was done by grade 3or grade 5 student… I’m screwed!

By the way, I forgot to introduce my self, I am G from Philippines currently working as caregiver and soon to have an open permit, hopefully it will go smoothly.  (I’m working on my papers now). I am planning to complete my english exam within this year, I wanted to be a Licensed practical nurse first then hopefully I can proceed to a Registered Nurse someday if God’s permit.
Thank you…please help me. G

PART II: hi kim, is everything okay?

Dear IEN,

Back in November I posted several blogs about the passing of my 17 year old daughter.

·         hi kim, is everything okay?
·         I hope and pray that you’ll recover soon for us. We need you.
·         I’m quite hesitant to email you: is this the right time to purchase the writing module?

Although this was personal information I was sharing publicly, I did this for several reasons:

  • Life is about struggles and challenges, and the only way we can get through them is together.
  • I knew that I needed the prayers of all the IENs I had come to know, for I had felt their prayers on my behalf repeatedly in the past.
  • Here I had been providing hope and encouragement and I had come to a place and time when I sorely needed it myself.
  • For all those people who questioned, “Is there really a Kim?”, or if all of this was a scam. The comments from caring and concerned IENs are certain to convince anyone of my existence and the loyalty of those who have allowed me to walk with them along their individual paths towards their common dream.

As soon as possible I will join in that CELBANPrep family!

Kim,

Thank you so much for your email.
I need to improve my general English in writing, listening, reading and speaking. I was a nurse in Brasil, I have been studied English for 06 months and I need a little bit more.
After this process, as soon as possible I will join in that CELBANprep family, i really enjoy your course and I know that I need them.
I am going to study a couple months more by myself and when I feel security I will start to study to CELBANprep on line. I prefer to study n my comfortable home.
Please,  let me know with you have some advice about my situation, every thing is very important for me now.
           Sincerely
            K

♦Thank you for understanding our pains and struggles.

Hi Kim,
Thank you again. You made the  right in decision in choosing Dia as one of your coach. And I wanted to say thank you also to her.
I failed in Celban before, but I said I’m going to try again. And when I enrolled in your class, I know I will be learning all that I needed to pass the exam. It was indeed an experience.
I didn’t meet you in person yet, just once during the webinar session but I will say it again, I know you know it already, and a lot of IEN’s have told you this, but you are such a very trust worthy person. Thank you for this kind of review that you have. This is the answer to our search for something that can help us to go to the very first step of attaining our goal in this country. Thank you for understanding our pains and struggles. This is just my first step, but I know I am going there.. It is still a long process but I will never give up.
When CELAS gave me a seat for the exam I grab it and  a week before, I go through all your e-mails in my inbox … I don’t know but I needed something where I can get more strength and I ask to HIM to please give it to me this time.
God bless your pure and kind heart Kim. More power to your staff. Please dont get tired but I know your job is not easy and you get tired too. I pray for you,.. More strength and healthy body and more dreams to be fulfilled in your life and your love ones. Kim, every knowledge or information that you share and teach is an enlightenment for me..
Thank you, thank you so much. I will keep in touch with you, by making sure that every IEN’s that I meet they must have to know you and your team.
You take care always and thank you so much Kim.
H

♫ Thank you kim, I like the way i learn English [in CELBANPrep Writing] from you.

Thank you kim, I like the way i learn English from you.

I am glad, L. Thank you for mentioning it. What do you like about how I teach English?

Also, in reading this now I am wondering if you would grant me permission to post it on my blog, Dear Kim, so people can learn from you how to find a job in Canada? If you do, would you like me to write your name, or just your initial?
Kim

♦ Thank you for your persistence in making sure I pass my exam or even get registered with CELBAN

Hi Kim,
Thank you for your persistence in making sure I pass my exam or even get registered with CELBAN. I truly appreciate you.
Kim, I do not want to write any exam and will not get the cut off points, keep writing until frustrated out of it. What can I do to get my points at once is the issue here. Since I entered the country, I have heard of many people’s failure rate and success which is more scaring. Can you be off help here. I’ve never failed an exam and don’t want to fail this.
Thank you for replying me as usual.

Yours sincerely,
J
