Dear Kim,
It is precise and to the point. It gave me a good feature of the exam.
Generally it very helpful to prepare the reading exam, but what I suggest is that, If you introcude past exams like exercises with answers students can time themselves and can get broad knowledge of the nature of the exam. Most IENs compilan about insatficient material about Celban.

If you have been in Canada for a while you will have learned that we as Canadians believe in following rules, laws and policy, which means we have a lot of rules, laws and policies.
-
There are strict policies in place when it comes to any professional trained to participate in any professional exam. Confidentiality is of utmost importance. My friend is trained as a CLB Assessor and she is not permitted to share any of her knowledge about the exam or the evaluation. She can lose her credentials if she did. Also, Internationally Educated Professionals taking professional exams sign a document saying that they will not share information about the exam with others. Again, they can lose their licence. This would be considered cheating. Cheating is a major offence in Canada, highly unprofessional conduct.

The CELBAN is relatively knew, when compared to the TOEFL or IELTS. It is also limited in scope: to nurses, to Canada. For this reason there is less exam material developed, in comparision. A great deal of information, including actual exam questions, are avialable for these other older exams as they are exams that are no longer in use, or the exams have been created in countries that do not have the same policies in place.
-
It is for these reasons that actual exam questions are not available, nor is there an assessment component in CELBANPrep. Even if I was trained to assess people for the CELBAN, I would not be permitted to do so unless it was an actual exam.
Yet, if CARNA is an example, the CELBAN it taking a more important role in evaluating proficiency of nurses in Canada. With a Master in Education, and experience in career development, I have applied various skills, knowledge and abilities to create CELBANPrep. This includes:
-
Curriculum Development
-
Program Planning
-
Adult Education
-
Needs Assessment
-
Evaluation
-
Web Design
-
Graphic Design
-
Communications: written, visual, oral
-
Learning Styles
-
and so much more.
CELBANPrep has been created from a great deal of research, planning, designing and testing: allowing me to create resources to help IENs prepare for the CELBAN because “most IENs complain about insufficent resources for the CELBAN.”
I will continue to provide a quality product that allows you to be familiar with the exam, develop and polish exam taking skills that allow you to feel confident during the exam. This is the most important thing, for you to be calm so that you can perform the best of your abilities
Thanks again for your comments, and for subcribing to CELBANPrep.
Sincerely,
Kim
