Thank you for your e-mail.
Sigh, it would be so nice to be able to actually meet everyone. Travel is not inexpensive, so, unfortunately in person contact is not really feasible. (People already complain about the cost of education in Canada, and are not willing to pay for it. Adding costs of travel doesn’t seem like a way to go.)
But, your comment “I missed when you were in Vancouver” inspired me, even though our paths may not have crossed with you being out of the country. As a result, yesterday, I created a new event, a Dear Kim Session. It is an experiment. I don’t know how it will go… but it is an idea, a way to connect with IENs, like you suggested.
Because, in all reality, my blog Dear Kim was created because of how many e-mails I receive that express the same message as you have shared, “I find that it has taken so long for me to accomplish this dream that sometimes I feel like giving up. I really need help.”
Unfortunately my capacity to do so has been deeply impacted by my daughter’s passing. As you say, the wounds are deep. And I know they are being healed, but it will take time. So your blessing that I have a “New Year filled with peace that passes all understanding” is both well received and much needed.
I do wish the very best for you, and thank you so much for taking the time to write.
