Thank you for your time. I’m doing very good. How are you doing? Winnipeg is very nice place specially this summer season. I am from Philippines. I came here in Winnipeg last September 04, 2011 with my husband and two children as an immigrant. Winnipeg is our first stop, I worked before in Qatar as a Registered Nurse, but I left my family in the Philippines so I decided to apply as Manitoba Nominee through the sponsorship of my brother.
Here is my Benchmark Score: Listening – 5, Speaking – 6, Reading – 6, Writing – 6
I never tried IELTS or Celban Examination before. This is my first time, that’s why I’m very nervous because I heard a lot of comments about the exam. There are times that I want to give up because I’m not sure if I can do it. At present, I have double job so it’s hard for me to study but I’m really trying my best. I just want to ask you some tips on how to study like how many hours a day and how many months I need to study before the date of exam. I would be very grateful if you could help me with my journey. I really appreciate your questions about myself and spending time with me.
Thank you for your message and your patience as you awaited for a reply. I have been working on a new book called the CELBAN Trap. And actually in reading your message I am thinking I have to add something, a message of hope for people like you who need to guard against discouragement to protect yourself from falling into the trap. So far the book has been informational and not supportive. So you have inspired me, today. I will be thinking of you are I work on this book again, tomorrow. But today, I am answering emails. Let me say this, your scores, your limited time, and your discouragement tell me that not only is there a high probability that you fall into the CELBAN Trap, but that you do something even more detrimental and not take the exam at all! Are you really that willing to give up on your dream of life in Canada? Surely living in Quatar taught you a great deal about yourself, your ability to adapt, and your ability to work in difficult situations? Surely now that you are reunited with your family you want to have the full dream, not just part of it? Canada is not a place where people give up on their dreams, is it?
What would have happened if I gave up on my dream? You would not be getting this message from me!
Your score tells me it will take time. It will take time and practice, preparation and dedication for you to increase your score. How long it will take depends on how much time you have to study. The more time you have on a daily basis, the quicker your process. The less time, the longer it will take you. But you are not alone. So much so I have 50 posts on Time Management on my blog. See if you can find time to read them, and discover you are not alone. But more than that you need to figure out a way to rekindle the fire inside of you, because without dedication and determination there is no real point in starting the process. It is probably better for you to focus on your family; because, family comes first. And maybe that is the way it needs to be for you. But if you want to become a nurse, then you need to remember why being a nurse is so very important to you. So you might like: encouragement or testimonials. For if all you need is someone to believe in you, I am here and I will spend the time with you that you need to prepare: me and my amazing Writing Coaches and Speaking Mentors. Because you know what, they too are IENs. They have taken the CELBAN, and passed. So they know what it is like, and they are here for you too.
But more than anything, L, I want you to follow me on my blog or on facebook so you get times and dates when I am presenting the CELBAN Trap near you. Because I think that if there is one thing that will motivate you, it is being in a room filled with other IENs with the same dream. I think that you will find something within yourself, that you have either lost or forgotten, And when you remember, it will light your fire, fill you with hope, and give you the motivation to create the time to prepare for the CELBAN.
Thank you for helping me to realize how important this presentation is to IENs across the world who need hope, inspiration and encouragement. You have changed my life, and you have changed how and when I give this presentation. Because I want to sit down, tomorrow, and create a travel plan for you ignited the fire in me!
